USA Archery Level 2
2021-2024 UCSD Archery Competitive Team Member

Brooklyn Louie decided to join archery her second year after she saw an SGA Workshop flier hanging around campus and decided to try out a workshop. She found it enjoyable and kept showing up, and show up she did. Brooklyn was a regular on our field, elevating our community with her wonderful sense of humor and acceptance of all fellow members. We all loved checking in on Brooklyn’s unique and innovative journey through the creation of many “scuffed” clickers for her bow. Additionally, Brooklyn was attentive on our field, making sure a safe environment was kept. She was always looking out for our community, so although she never ran, many thought of Brooklyn as an honorary Officer. We are grateful to have had her presence on the field.

Although she was an integral member to our social culture, Brooklyn’s biggest struggle was once confidence and social interaction. However, through joining archery and having a friend group to hang out with both on and off the field, Brooklyn improved her social skills and boosted her confidence. In fact, her favorite archery tournament was SIACC because she was able to meet and hang out with her fellow archers.

After college, Brooklyn will move to Seattle where she will work at FlukeCorp.

Brooklyn passed down her persistent, inventive, and humorous spirit to all SGA members, and we are so lucky to have such an amazing role model to call a friend to the field. We wish Brooklyn good luck with her future endeavors!
